Our aspiration as a company is to invest in a sustainable future. As a Bainie, you have a wide range of opportunities to get involved in matters close to your heart and to work on solutions to social problems. Our commitment is based on three pillars: working together with partner organizations, commitment to local initiatives and daily work with customers.
We earned a platinum rating from EcoVadis, the leading platform for environmental, social, and ethical performance ratings for global supply chains, putting us in the top 1% of all companies. Since our founding in 1973, we have measured our success by the success of our clients, and we proudly maintain the highest level of client advocacy in the industry.
For many years we’ve been working with several organizations that drive positive societal change. Key areas include education, sustainable development and environmental issues.
We also invest in innovative local initiatives. Bain consultants have the opportunity, among other things, to become sparring partners for student start-up teams and to work together on solutions to pressing social problems. examples for this are Vision Lab and The Mission.
“Practice what you preach” is a motto we take to heart: At Bain, you have a range of options for social commitment and socially responsible action in your everyday work. The following are some of our local initiatives.
Since 2012 we have been certified as a carbon-neutral company. We offset our emissions, including trips to clients, by supporting numerous green projects. If you want to help reduce our firm’s climate impact, you can join your office’s "Green team". These teams develop and implement steps to reduce our ecological footprint, for instance by encouraging the use of low-carbon transportation on business travels.
At one of our three- to six-month externships, you have an opportunity to contribute your skill and talent to NGOs, social enterprises, and public-sector organizations. Choose between our long-standing partner organizations or a non-profit of your own choice.
Our firm’s charity work is often based on long-term collaboration. For example, we regularly host charity auctions or fundraising campaigns. At our annual "Community Impact Day", our offices demonstrate their commitment to their respective local communities by helping to renovate playgrounds, reforest public parks and much more. At occasions like these, we’ve seen lots of hidden talents revealed!
In the context of all customer work, it is very important to us to ensure that the topic of sustainability is embedded in their core strategy. Why? Because we are convinced that sustainability is an opportunity for every company. We help client companies focus on the actions that endure to achieve long-term results on sustainability issues - from plastic recycling to climate efficiency to developing sustainable environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
