Associate consultant (Bachelor/Master)

If you join Bain & Company with a bachelor's or master's degree, you‘ll typically start your career as an Associate Consultant. Working for clients from a range of industries, you’ll gain the broad basic knowledge of a generalist and move up a steep learning curve.

As an Associate Consultant, you will work for different industries and clients and acquire a broad general basic knowledge. Your learning curve is steep: from day one you are part of a team that does everything it can to implement the right business strategies together with the customer and to increase the company's value in the long term. In independent sub-projects you research for example relevant market information for a consumer goods manufacturer, analyze the European competition for an automotive supplier, conduct expert interviews at a company in the pharmaceutical industry or compare the competitive situation of an energy supplier.

Numerous development opportunities await you

Numerous advancements await you
options

If you join Bain with a bachelor's degree, after a year of gaining project experience you’ll have the opportunity to complete your master's degree – or continue your career at Bain.

Before getting promoted to Consultant, you can choose to take a leave of absence with different options for your personal and academic development:

  • Get your MBA or PhD from a renowned (international) university.
  • Collect new impressions on the Experience Track: Colleagues decided, for example, to work as an assistant teacher in Nepal, worked for a marine protection NGO in the Maldives or used the time for language or sports courses all over the world.
  • If you don’t want to take a leave of absence, accelerate your career by getting on the Fast Track. For instance you can transfer to one of our international offices to gain new impressions.
We want you to be able to build a strong career for yourself while continuing to pursue your personal passions. That’s why we offer innovative hybrid work models – a combination of virtual collaboration and in-person meetings –, reduced travels, and numerous options to adapt your workday to your individual needs. For even more flexibility, we offer various leave options, opportunities for pro-bono consulting and a range of internal roles – as well as part-time work models and extended parental leave.
